The year 2021, a
year of implementation with lots of improvements for several old features like
speed playback for voice messages, multi-device, new archive and so on for
WhatsApp. On 22nd August 2021, WhatsApp has unveiled a public beta program for
the WhatsApp Desktop app and many homegrown messaging apps like Telegram,
Signal, unofficial apps like WhatsApp Plus and GB WhatsApp and others are
making replicas of WhatsApp with added features that are creating a tough
competition for WhatsApp and therefore it is trying hard to upgrade with more
enhanced and better features and to make its consumers do not relocate to others.

Even though WhatsApp is extensively considered as the most widely used encrypted
messenger service today, it has its problems. Nevertheless for users, it's a win-win situation as the
Facebook-owned conglomerate has been adding new features to its mobile apps
and also valuable features like forthcoming multi-device support, editing
features for WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Desktop.
Unveiling of a public beta program
for the WhatsApp Desktop app done by WhatsApp and the WABetaInfo reports showed
that users can also start beta testing on WhatsApp for Desktop, which will permit
users to try out new features before they release to general WhatsApp
users. It is already testing a very
beneficial feature on beta version 2.2133.1 of WhatsApp for Desktop. For those
who are eager in installing the latest beta update, the messaging app is now
the testing support for listening to a voice note that you record before you
send it to someone. It's a feature that is being worked on for iOS and
Android. Also, the adding up of features very quickly is by enlisting the
support of beta testers on both iOS and Android.
